BIOGRAPHY
At MJR Coaching+Consulting, Mary Jo brings decades of valuable experience to her individual, team, and corporate clients, tapping into her considerable coaching, facilitating, and consulting expertise to drive change and growth.
Mary Jo is a Columbia University Certified Executive Coach, specializing in transition, leadership, business growth, communication and women’s advancement. Her clients in transition are often changing careers and struggling with next steps. She is a strengths based coach and uses various assessments in her coaching practice.
Mary Jo is also a presentation and communications Coach for Own The Room, a global training company, and has recently worked with American Express, Delta, Facebook, and LinkedIn. In 2012, Mary Jo co-founded UP Business Communications which trains tech start-ups, ad agencies, and media companies in New York City on presentation skills. She sold the company in 2018 but continues to act as an advisor.
When appropriate, Mary Jo weaves in communication tools and techniques when partnering with her executive and transition coaching clients to positively impact how they show up on interviews and in everyday communication.
Earlier in her career, Mary Jo spent 20+ years as a highly regarded magazine publisher and senior executive leading national sales, advertising, and marketing teams. Over the years, she has worked with top companies including Google, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Procter & Gamble and The Weather Channel.
